Belated birthday present

A few months ago I was given a "Day With the Raptors" as a birthday present by my wife. Finally used it yesterday. What an amazing experience! Now I know why people wear those heavy leather gloves with birds. The eagle grabs on with 700 psi.

It was 36 C by the end of my six hours at the bird sanctuary. I was totally spent. Notice the bald eagle panting!

Here is a small selection of the birds I got to handle and work with. Sadly, no pictures of the various hawks, falcons and owls flying to me. Fantastic birthday experience.
