Wow, I'm in Wau!

Lovely Wau, West Bahr al Ghazal State, southern Sudan. 500 km north west of Juba. 3 hours by helicopter. This is the view of the Juhr River from the back of my hotel (note garbage dump beside vegetable patch) with people wading across the river. Also the front of my hotel, the not so luxurious Wau Regency Hotel. Grand name, but... The dome to the right of the picture is where the rooms are, restaurant entrance is by the power pole.

On the other hand, the view of the sunrise from the hotel was tremendous each morning. And then, it would just get hot. Damn hot. Oh, and there was the dust everywhere.
